| Lyching was an absolutely attrocious way of torturing the innocent; it was a way to hide white sin when we did wrong, covering it up with the public death of an innocent black man, woman, or child. There was no age limit for lynching, and the thought that public murder used in order to embarass the person who lost their life to it was accepted and gotten away with is absolutely sickening. I cannot believe that such behavior was tolerated, and that racism was such a huge issue and continues to be an issue today. Are we all not human? I do not understand why races aside from whites were seen as beneath, or less than human from them. It is a disgusting need for power that kept slavery going, and i'm glad that it has been put to an end. We are ALL human. |
