| There were two things that disturbed me the most about the photographs in this video. First was the number of people who stood around gawking. It was not just white men, whom I associate most with frequently with violent acts of racism. There were women and children that served as spectators as well. The second part that bothered me was that these lynchings were not hidden. They did not occur deep in the woods or in the middle of nowhere. They occured where people were supposed to see them. |
