Why would it take a mob of thousands of people to torture, burn and hang one person, and today only 1 or 2 people can administer the death penality. Who were these people fooling? Who were they kidding? Look at the ones they hung, mostly tall, young black males, some were not even adult men yet. They hung children, harmless people, people in the prime of their life. They hung pregnant women too (look up the lynching of Mary Turner - she was 8 months pregnant). Is there any study out there that explains what went on the minds of these killers, and what made them stop? Did they finally evolve from the monsters they became?
