| It is disturbing to me that men could commit these violent acts, but what is more frightening is that onece complete there is actuall pride among the men for what they had just done. Like a deer hunter proud of his new rack that he has shot and killed, the mobbs all gather around the bodys to pose for pictures and worse still there are children in the pictures as well. The level of violence that was brought about during that time period was an exibition of fear. There was no possible justification for these acts of violence as Ida B. Wells indicated. The reasons behind the lynchings were just excuses there was no founded evidence becasue they did not look for it, fear took over and turned immedeatly to violence. This is the ugliest black eye on American history. |
