| I guess my initial reaction to it was that the was in which these atrocities were basically plastered about for people to see was sickening. From the looks of the pictures, these events were not private hangings, but something of a spectator sport for some of these people. Even more unbelievable to me was the fact that children were allowed to witness these acts. My first thought was the realization that we as human beings can cause such hurt merely because of the hatred we're capable of. Finally, the hardest aspect for me to understand was how these people could possibly feel proud about what they'd done, which was quite evident on the postcards. |
