| When we learned about lynching in Africa, I was appalled by what I saw. It's so sad and disturbing that lynching actually took place, and still in some places, does. It is such an inhumane way to treat people, and most of the time, the person who was being lynched, did absolutely nothing wrong except for having black skin. An image that most disturbed me was an image where a black man was being hung from a tree, and there were probably about 100 white people around. All the white people just stood around as if it were a get together. They were conversing and some were even smiling. It almost looked as if the hung black man was photoshopped in the picture because of how unaffected the surrounding people were. It was definitely a very sad and intense part of the course. |
