I'm a descendant of Alec Whitley and am doing some research on the topic of his lynching. Does anyone have any information about this incident? Does anyone have any information on any photographs of this lynching? He was lynched June 9, 1891 in Stanly County, Albemarle, North Carolina. I would appreciate any leads on where to look for information. Thank you.
